Abigail’s
Better Bread
is made with
freshly-ground 100% whole wheat flour, which is the product of the
wheat berry.
The
wheat berry is about the size and shape of a grain of rice, and is
made of three parts:
- Bran
- Endosperm
- Germ
Most breads you find
at the store are made with white flour, which is made by sifting out
the bran and the germ, leaving the endosperm, which is mostly starchy
carbohydrates. But because Abigail’s Better Bread is made with
whole wheat flour, it contains all of the fiber, antioxidants,
vitamins B and E, and minerals, that are contained in the bran and
the germ.
Abigail's
Bread is also “Better” because of what's not
in the bread – on the rare occasion that you can find 100% whole
wheat bread in a grocery store, it's usually also filled with
preservatives.
